On July 10th the royal family and I helped out with an event at the Veterans Memorial Community Center called “Bruce the Bug Guy”. This was an event that is usually held at our local library, but it is currently under construction. Bruce the Bug Guy brought many different bugs including Cecropia Moths and caterpillars which are the largest moth and caterpillar in North America, Hissing Cockroaches, meal worms, and tarantulas. We helped pass out all the bugs to the kids and we learned so much about them. Bruce the Bug Guy is an Entomologist and for 25 years he has been working with bugs and entertaining and teaching audiences of all ages about so many cool creatures. At the end he gave the royalty a chance to hold a tarantula! He also had samples of dead and flavored meal worms. I actually ate one and it tasted like a potato chip! I had so much fun at this event and I had a chance to experience so many things I wouldn’t have been able to do before. We all had a great time and I hope I have a chance to do something like this again!
