Thank you 2019 Royalty!

“How can I sum up in one word the 2019 royal court? Well, that is impossible. These five young women are fun, energetic, outgoing, courageous, and fun-loving. It has been a joy watching a quiet, shy not outspoken girl blossom into a young woman who can take on a room full of unfamiliar faces and hold herself with grace, poise, and dignity. We could have not asked for a better group of fine young women to represent our city and we should be proud of what they have accomplished this year. I know they will go on to continue to grow in their leadership skills as well as achieving whatever they set their minds to. Good luck in your future endeavors!”

Sponsor Visit

Sponsors are a big part of our program that allow it to keep running and that is why I am glad for my sponsor, Gertens. Without them I would not have been able to attend parades, go to kick off dinners, and go to other communities coronations. I want to give a big thank you to Gertens for being a wonderful sponsor and making my year a great one!

Woodbury Parade

So today (Sunday, August 25) we went to the Woodbury parade. We met people we’ve never seen before and it was so fun being in the parade because we went though the Woodbury festival which was really cool.

Sponsor Visit

On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, my Royal sister Tessa and I, along with some of our wonderful candidates, had the opportunity to be able to go to my sponsor’s lunch at the South Saint Paul/Inver Grove Heights Rotary Club. I was sad that this felt like a closing chapter for my sponsor and I, and it was kind of hard to say good bye and thank them for all their support and help this year! I had to get another picture of all the members in the President of the Rotary Club. They did such an amazing job with helping us girls this year, and I’m so thankful that they were my sponsor.

Little Miss Service Project #2

In July 2019 I reached out to Last Hope to see if there were any donations needed to help with the fostering of the cats and dogs they help.  After talking to them, I decided to make blankets that would fit in the kennels and could be sent home with them when adopted. I also made belly bands.  Belly bands help train an animal for indoor toilet training. The belly bands are sorta like a diaper holder. They are a band of material that has a Velcro strap.  You can use a sanitary pad and strap it around the belly of the animal being trained. Overall, I made 11 kennel sized blankets and 7 belly bands. I made the blankets in a variety of sizes using cotton and flannel material with different patterns that would be okay for a dog or cat.  I made different sizes of belly bands too, so it would fit a big or small animal. I also donated a very large bag of cat food because that was also really needed.

Little Miss Service Project #1

In Late October and early November 2018, I did my first service project.  Operation Gratitude is the Service Project I chose. With this project, I collected almost 30lbs of candy that was sent to the troops that are currently serving our country overseas.  I collected the candy by going door to door during a trick or treat event. Each house I went to, I asked if the homeowner would be interested in helping me collect my goal of 30lbs of candy to send to the troops.  I also got permission from my church to put out a box to collect candy. Many of the church members graciously donated. I carefully sorted the candy to make sure that each bag I filled had a variety of yummy treats. I then packed them all up and mailed them off to the Operation Gratitude Headquarters.  Thanks to my royal sisters, the community of Inver Grove Heights and my church in Rosemount, I was able to come extremely close to my goal weight.
