Movie in the Park

On Friday, August 16th, my Royal sisters and I volunteered to help IGH Parks and Rec with their Movie in the Park event. It was originally going to be at Oakwood Park but got moved to the Grove due to the rain. We helped run the bounce obstacle courses and made sure everyone was safe. We of course had to try it out ourselves. It was so funny! Keonna almost lost her crown. We had a great time and love to support our community.

Sponsor Visit

My sponsor and I The Best Roofing Company got to hang out at our Kick-Off Dinner for our lovely city of Inver Grove Heights. We got to catch up and talk about my amazing year I have had being royalty and my future plans for next year. He was awesome and bid on my cake I made for the auction and he won it!  I gave him a gift as a thank you for sponsoring me, as this would not be possible without his generous sponsorship donations. He also was really nice and gave me his company merchandise! I have enjoyed Daniel as my sponsor, he is Super cool! Thank again Daniel!!!!!

Little Canada Days Parade

Last Sunday we went to the Little Canada parade. We got to see a whole bunch of different royalties, including Woodbury,  St Paul Winter Carnival, the Vulcans, Eagan funfest, Rice Street and their candidates. We saw a fair and lots of food trucks. We also traded a bunch of buttons with the other royalties.  It was so much fun attending the parade.  We are going to miss our Rice Street royal sisters.

Town Square TV Taping

On Monday, August 5th my royal sisters and I met with the candidates at Town Square Television to record the candidate showcase. Each of us recorded sections of the showcase. We had the privilege of working along side a couple important members of the Moose Lodge 1088. They interviewed each of the candidates and the current royal court. We are excited to see the recording once it’s published.

Relay for Life

On Saturday, August 3rd, my Royal sisters and I attended Relay For Life in South St. Paul. We judged puzzle piece design and best spirit contests with Inver Grove Heights Mayor Brenda Dietrich. It was so inspiring to cheer for the many cancer survivors as they made their way around the track. It was a fun but also sad event as I wish there were less bags representing loved ones who have died from cancer. I met a woman who told me about her wonderful mother who had passed from cancer. My mom had purchased the item she had donated in her mother’s memory from the silent auction. We talked for a while and got a picture together. At the later ceremony, County Commissioner Joe Atkins gave us a shout out and had us come up and introduce ourselves. I had never been to a Relay event and I learned a lot and felt proud to help raise money for this important cause.

Feed My Starving Children

On Wednesday, July 31st, my royal sisters and I joined the candidates and their families to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan. We packed meals for children in the Philippines. Along with other volunteer groups, we packed 78 boxes and 16,848 meals. That is enough to feed 46 kids a daily meal for one year!
