2016 Sparkle Night at the Twins Game

photo (2)This past Tuesday, my royal family, as well as dozens of other royalty from throughout Minnesota, came together and supported the Minnesota Twins at one of their games. Every attending royalty was given the opportunity to walk the bases before the start of the game. Before we went out all the royalties had to wait below the stands and it was really cool to see so many visiting ambassadors in one place. There were girls we see regularly, such as the Winter Carnival Juniors and Woodbury, but also girls from places like Winstead and Le Seuer, just to name a few. The weather was nice too, as what first started as a hot day, with the sun beating down on us, turned out to be a gorgeous evening. The Twins were playing the Atlanta Braves that evening, and although they lost, it was so much fun getting to spend time with Steph, Liv, Olivia, Hillary, and Taylor.

2016 Miss Inver Grove Heights – 2nd Service Project

IMG_9189For my last service project as Miss Inver Grove Heights, I made it a unforgettably  colorful one. Sunday, July 10th, I got a group together to do the color run at the state fair grounds. This run is one of my favorites because it donates the money to local charities in the host city. This year the color run is working with 2 big organizations, Special Olympics Minnesota and the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. Joining me was our Little miss Inver Grove Heights Princess, Taylor, my sister, Brittany, and A past Jr Winter Carnival King Frost, Nick. We also had 3 more amazing ladies on our team, Alicia(past IGH Princess), her cousin, and a close family friend, Rachel. Last year I fell in love with this run because I saw how many people were there and if you do the math, the charities will get so much help. It is an absolutely amazing way to help the community around us and have fun while doing it. I am so thankful for my team, Colorful Crowns, and will continue in the years to come.

2016 Miss Inver Grove Heights – Service Project

I collected fabrics from very generous people in order to make tie blankets for Good Samaritan Senior Living. Rachel, Taylor, my mom and I became very busy one night and we made about 15 blankets! We had pizza too, but the blankets were the best! There were all types of colors and fun patterns to make, I’m sure they would love them! The staff is going to use them as gifts for their Birthday! I’m very happy because they all got really excited and said they wanted one when we brought them in! It is an amazing feeling.

2016 Junior Miss Inver Grove Heights – Sponsor Visit

photo (1)This week I made my final visit to my sponsor, Greg Kuntz of Remax Specialists. His generosity has made this year-long journey possible for me, as well as other Inver Grove Heights alumni. His sponsorship has allowed me to have an incredible experience. I have met so many new people, attended surrounding cities’ festivals, some of which I had never taken part in before, and at the end of my reign I will receive an educational CD that will go towards a higher education once I graduate. Without sponsors, the program would not be as successful as it has been, and girls like me could not be given such a great opportunity.

2016 Eagan Coronation

photo 1This past Monday my royal family and I attended the Eagan Funfest Ambassador Coronation. We watched a video that showed highlights of their year, as well as the events with their candidates. The background music was patriotic to stick with their Fourth of July theme. In addition, all six candidates answered fishbowl questions that helped us learn a little bit more about themselves. Twice during the coronation, Twirl Minnesota, a dance company, had two brief performances. Some of the girls performing were past Cottage Grove Ambassadors! Then, at the end of the evening, four new ambassadors were crowned. We are excited to welcome Autumn, Eden, Makenzie, and Emma into the sparkle section, and I hope we get to know them better throughout the rest of the summer.photo 2

2016 Kaposia Days Parade

ssp1On Friday, June 24th, my royal sisters and I had a great time at the South St. Paul Kaposia Days parade. Before we went to line up, we socialized and took pictures at a pre-parade party graciously hosted by Holly Pugh and Scott Cocchiarella. Then we headed over to our line up spot and talked with more royalty and took even more pictures! Once we were on our way, the parade itself was a blast! We saw a lot of people we knew on the parade route since South St. Paul is only a stone’s throw away from Inver Grove Heights. This parade route is one of the longer ones when compared to other cities’, but throughout the entire parade the streets were packed!! And I mean packed. That really shows how much community support there is in South St. Paul! After the parade we headed over to the VFW. While we were there we ate some awesome food (the jalapeno peppers were my favorite), chatted with other royalties and the South St. Paul candidates. Speaking of candidates, the South St. Paul coronation is our next event! We cannot wait to welcome the new girls who are selected to represent their city for the next year. With that said, however, I can speak for all of us by saying that we love Meg, Kaitlyn, and Molly, and we honestly do not want them to give up their crowns! They have been so kind, funny, and friendly towards us throughout our time together. I hope the new girls and my royal family are just as close!

2016 Cory’s Closet Service Project

CorysClosetOver the past couple months I have been collecting clothes and  hygiene product donations for a designated place In my school, which we have named Cory’s closet. This is a closet for those in need and who are not able to get these products on their own. It’s very important that they get the proper care they need. It is in honor of my brother who is no longer with us, but loved this school and was a Simley High School graduate. I hope to get more people interested. I would like to thank Mrs. Walsh for giving me the space to do this, it is a big help! We will keep it going for the years to come!

2016 Rice Street Festival Kick Off Dinner

IMG_8891Princess Liv and I attended the Rice Street Kick Off Dinner on the 8th of June. It was a fun filled event where we were able to meet the 7 amazing rice street candidates and celebrate the current girls in all they’ve done. A big thank you to TST for the amazing food, the Mac and cheese was awesome! I loved looking at the desserts and hearing the different things they did on classic twists!

Thank you Rice Street!

2016 Farmington Dew Days Parade

IMG_3643 (2)Wow, what a crazy day! Farmington Dew Days parade was our second of the day, but easily the more eventful one. The weather was on our side in the sense that it wasn’t raining, but the heat would not let up! Luckily our line up spot was in the shade. Before the parade we had the chance to briefly talk with the newly crowned Farmington royalty, as well as others. After socializing, we returned to our float and discovered that there was a pig behind it! She was in the parade too, and so naturally, in addition to taking a few pictures, we had to pet her. She was kind of prickly, like a porcupine, but still very cute. At 5:00 the parade began. It was super fun and it had a great spectator turnout. There were few spots in the parade where there was no one to wave to or smile at! All was good until we were in the home stretch. Then, the car battery died. We (as in the five of us on the float) smiled awkwardly as we watched the rest of the parade move ahead without us. However, the wait did not last long because the gracious group in front of us, the people representing Seal King, agreed to use their truck to pull the dead vehicle and float the rest of the way (thank you, thank you, thank you!). Once we started moving again, the crowd cheered, and the five of us laughed as this was surely a parade to remember. Like I said at the beginning, it was a crazy day for all of us, but those kinds of events make the best memories, right?!
