2018 Gertens Pumpkin Fest

On October 13th the Miss Inver Grove Heights Royalty went to Gertens for Pumpkin Fest. We helped greet people, paint pumpkins, play games, pass out apples, and helped with the bouncy house. We had a lot of fun talking and meeting a lot of people. Thanks to Gertens for having us and letting us help out.

2019 Explore Cahill

On Sunday September 9th, the Royal Court and I ventured out for our first event! It was so exciting, we traveled up and down Cahill exploring all the amenities that our beautiful city has to offer. We started in front of Aldi with the car show and worked our way past the animal show, which was hands-down my favorite part of the day. Not only did we get to see the adorable dogs (and guinea pig!) but it was our first time introducing ourselves as the Royal Court of Inver Grove Heights. Another favorite part of the day was seeing all the children’s excitement when they saw the new princesses! It was so cute, we made their day just by speaking to them and taking a picture. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!

Service Project

For my third and final service project, I donated therapeutic rice bags to the fire department in Inver Grove Heights. It was really fun to be able to sit with the fire fighters and talk to them about all they do, and thank them for their service to my community. It was really fun to donate them and to get a tour of the fire station. I enjoyed getting to know the people who sacrifice their time for us.

Thank you Inver Grove Heights Firefighters

2018 Felicia’s Sponsor Visit

I would like to give a huge thank you to my sponsor this year, Bruce from Quality Auto Care Center. Without his support, this year would not have been possible. His sponsorship allowed me to have so many new and fun experiences that I will always remember, as well as helped me to grow as a person and develop so many skills such as leadership, public speaking, and responsibility. I am beyond grateful for Bruce’s generosity, and I am proud to have been able represent Quality Auto Care Center over my year.

2018 Kick off Dinner

On August 8th, my royal sisters and I, attended the annual kickoff dinner at St. Patrick’s Church in Inver Grove Heights. It was a very nice evening filled with fun and cake!
We started the dinner out with the 2018 Royalty introductions and our dads walking us out to the head table, which was really special. We ate a yummy dinner and then the cakes and desserts were raffled off. The 2019 Miss Candidates did their sponsor presentations and the Junior and Miss walked the room with their ‘All About Me’ outfits on. My royal sister’s and I were knighted by King Boreas and I was pinned by the Queen of the Snows, which was really awesome. Our royalty portraits were given to us and turned out really pretty. We spoke at the end and said thank you to the program and families. I was pretty nervous and jumbled up some of my lines, but I got a good laugh from the crowd, so it turned out okay!

This is one of my favorite events, so it was so fun to attend. It also means that we are all getting closer to the end of our reign, which is a bit sad. We are making the most out of our last month and the Kickoff Dinner was another great opportunity to spend time together with the families and royal court.

Miss Inver Grove 2018 Sponsor Visit

Without the generous support of my sponsor I would not be able to be apart of this amazing program. My sponsor, Hometown Meats, has done so much for me. The owners Rob and Robin, have supported me throughout my year and I owe so much to them. Meeting with them and thanking him for such an incredible year was so fun. There are truthfully no words to describe Rob’s generosity to the City of Inver Grove Heights and to me. Knowing Rob and his family has been a privilege. Thank you so much for your support.

2018 Special Olympic Luau

Our royal family of the Miss Inver Grove Heights scholarship program went and volunteered for the Special Olympics Lau. The event was held at the VFW in South St. Paul. The new candidates were also there that are running for the Miss IGH program. Together we helped serve food, great guests and danced with all the guests. We really had a fun time with all the athletes present at this event. We all had so much fun and bonded with the athletes, candidates and family members that were there. I really enjoyed this event with all the celebration and would enjoy helping again.

Thank You,

Sponsor Visit

I got to meet with my sponsor, Rob from Hometown Meats. Being able to thank him in person for all he has done for the city of Inver Grove Heights and for me and the Inver Grove Heights Scholarship Program was really special. Without his support I would not have been able to achieve such amazing things through the program and to grow as an individual. I got to go down to the food truck and eat some really good food at Gertens. I had such a fun time. Thank you so much to Rob and Hometown Meats for their sponsorship.

2018 Common Sense with Seniors

On Thursday, July 26th, my royal sisters and I attended the Common Sense Seniors fishing trip with this year’s Miss IGH candidates. There were a few extra poles so some of the girls tried fishing. They caught a few fish, but most just stole the bait. It was a small turnout due to the weather, but it was still fun!

2018 Town Square Television

On Monday my royal sisters and I filmed a segment about our scholarship program with Town Square Television. In our portion of the programming, we talked about the history of our program, the candidacy process, and our goal of “making a difference in the lives of young women” by building our personal skills such as speaking, interviewing, and minding our image presentation, as well as teaching us the value of service to others. The candidates were also at the event, and had the opportunity to introduce themselves and talk a little bit about their interests and why they want to be a part of our program. It has been fun getting to know all of the candidates, and I’m excited to see what the rest of the year has in store!
