Rice Street Kick-Off Dinner

On Wednesday, June 8th, my royal sister Alyssa and I had a chance to attend the Rice Street Royalty Candidate Dinner. It was an interesting evening.  We met all of the candidates and they were all lovely.  The judges definitely have a difficult decision ahead. There was a dessert auction and they unveiled the new Rice Street Royalty button.  They had some delicious-looking desserts that they auctioned off. We were lucky to spend some time with some of the other Royalty programs too. It was such a fun event and I am so excited to attend the Rice Street Royalty coronation and see who the next royal family is for them.

Little Princess Isabella Sponsor Visit

I went to visit my sponsor, The Blvd Tavern. I brought them a card to say thank you. Everyone was so nice and loved seeing me in my crown. I got to meet the manager and also some of the waitresses. They made me feel right at home. Thank you to The Blvd Tavern for sponsoring me.

Westby Weekend

On the weekend of May 13th – 15th my royal sisters Katie, Vanessa, and I went to Westby Wisconsin.  On Friday, all of our families arrived and we spent quality time with each other.  We played games, ate snacks, and caught up.  On Saturday, we went downtown to watch the kiddie parade, we shopped, took photos, and ate some yummy food.  After that, we all went Amish shopping and got flowers, baked goods, cheeses, etc.  It was my favorite part of the trip!  After we did all of that, we went to dinner as a group and then went back to the hotel for another game night.  On Sunday, we went to Westby High School and we saw visiting royalties and we were able to exchange buttons.  We took lots of group photos and got to be in the Syttende Mai parade.  It was a fantastic weekend!

Miss Inver Grove Heights Sponsor Visit

For my second sponsor visit, I met with Hubie Bauer, who has just finished his two-year term as president of The Moose Lodge 1088.  We talked about the events I have been doing, where I decided to go to college, and what I planned on studying there. I’d like to thank him for being my sponsor throughout my year so far. I wish him the best and I look forward to the continued partnership with The Moose Lodge 1088 and meeting their new president, Bill Foster.

Sunday Funday

On Sunday, April 24th, my royal sisters and I attended the Woodbury Fun Day. This was an event put on by the Woodbury ambassadors and it was so much fun. There were a lot of things to do like a bubble gum contest, dancing, and limbo. Unfortunately, none of us won the limbo contest but we still had a lot of fun participating. This event was also a great opportunity to see everyone again and meet some of the candidates for Big Lake.

Feed My Starving Children

My royal sisters and I went to Feed my Starving Children.  It’s a non-profit organization where people make packages of food to feed the hungry.

We started the volunteer session by watching a video that reviews the rules.  During the food packing session, we were yelling chants every time we finished a box-like “were in heaven, we’ve got seven”.  All the volunteers that night packed 103 boxes which is 22,248 meals.  That feeds 81 kids for a year and costs $5,339.52.  It was a fun way to give back to the hungry.

West Saint Paul Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, my royal sisters and I did an event called the West Saint Paul Easter Egg Hunt. We got to draw pictures and positive messages on the walkways. We handed out gift bags after the kids brought up their eggs. We also played a couple of games while listening to music from the DJ. The sun was out and it was a great time!

Parks and Rec Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 8th, my royal family and I helped Inver Grove Parks and Recreation and went to the Egg Hunt at Rich Valley Park. We helped spread out eggs and put out the signs for each age. Then the coordinators let us tell everyone the rules through the megaphone. It was a nice bonding experience for our group.  Plus it was a really fun community event. The kids had so much fun getting all the eggs.

Moose Lodge Breakfast

On Saturday, April 9th, the Inver Grove Heights Royal Family went out and celebrated an early Easter with The Moose Lodge 1088. Breakfast was served and we had the opportunity to run activities such as pin the tail on the bunny and a lucky spin. The Moose Lodge was also offering a pancake breakfast for everyone. About halfway through the event, the Easter Bunny showed up to say hello to all the kids. This was a great way to spend the morning and get to see the community together.

Vanessa’s first service project

My first service project was for the Salvation Army.  I rang a bell and did 2 hours, 2 times.
I volunteered with my mom and a second time with my sister, Annaleigh.
It was so cold so, my dad brought us hot chocolate.
Although it was really cold, it warmed my heart that I was helping people.
We were able to get a lot of donations, sing carols and I spent quality time with my family.
I can’t wait to volunteer as a bell ringer again.
