On Dec. 13, 2014, my royal sisters and I got to help with the IGH candy cane hunt at South Valley Park. It was so much fun!! This year was different than years before because we had mud instead of snow and it was chilly not freezing.We started the day hanging up candy canes to decorate the park. When the kids started to arrive we welcomed everyone who came and helped them get ready for the hunt. My favorite part was when we got to count down to start the search for candy canes. The kids and their parents went up the hill to find as many candy canes as allowed. As they finished, they brought their candy canes inside to get their prizes, hot apple cider and cookies. Two lucky winners got golden candy canes and won a special prize and got to light the tree at “Holiday on Main Street” later that day. It was a great experience I’ll never forget!
